BEHIND THE BRAND

I am a wife and mother of four fantastic kids, 2 doodles, 5 bunnies, 24 chickens, 3 horses, a pony, and a donkey. I work hard and love doing activities with my family. In the summer we love to camp, dirt bike, go boating and fishing, and sit around the fire pit. In the winter we love to bake goodies and make snow. Yes, you read that right...make snow.

We are a family of makers. After many years of failed attempts at making snow, my husband Bryan, bought himself a snow maker. Each winter we make a 12 foot snow hill and have fun sledding with friends. He also loves to invent. This year he brought one of his inventions to market for the first time. You can see it here.

Each one of my children is creative in their own interests from baking horse treats, to programming games, to making cosplay costumes, to drawing amazing pictures. 

​

One of my life long passions has always been sewing. As a little girl I remember making dresses for my dolls from scraps of fabric. My mom wanted all her girls to learn to sew. She taught us how to make clothes from store bought patterns. As a fourth grader I attempted my first original design and failed miserably. Ever since then it's always been my goal to make something better than the one before.

I have years developing skills in pattern making, couture dress making, heirloom sewing, smocking, professional techniques, finishing techniques, sewing with knits, coverstitch and serger techniques, sewing with shear fabrics, and tailoring ready-to-wear clothing. 

 

My passion and devotion to quality shine in every aspect of my handmade clothing and home decor, which is reflected in my company name, Sew Phancy. I am so excited to bring my line of handmade goods, quality fabrics, and notions to you and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
